Andre Gilford

“Andre C. Gilford Jr., lovingly referred to as “Dre,” is a recent graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Africana Studies. Committed to social justice and spiritual practice, Andre is committed to the cultivation of faith-centered healing spaces within the Black community to deal with the serious effects of religious trauma and social oppression. Andre is dedicated to  expanding the notion of the “beloved community” in faith spaces, while voicing the ills that prevent us from doing so. Educating Black children and youth to be their best selves in spite of societal oppression and racism is his first passion. Currently, he works with at-risk youth and LGBT inclusion in African American congregations in the metro Detroit area.”
